Lynda, still confused with herself, stood up and stretched. It made no sense. She was about to say no; she knew it. She was, in know way, thinking of saying sure. But she'd just have to worry about it later. "Drinks it is. I'm Lynda Moore, by the way." She headed toward the direction of the Mountain Dew line, fishing out two tickets from her pocket. The line was long, but not as long as the beer line right beside them.

"Good," Sasha grinned, falling in step with Lynda. "Kinda wish the line weren't so long... I mean, do they want us to pass out waiting? Or is it just some elaborate scheme?" He stuck his thumbs in the pockets of his skinny jeans (because the rest of his hands wouldn't fit). "I mean, really."

"Water!" some man called, making an individual line for people just getting water. "Since I'm getting water, I guess my wait won't be too long," Lynda said, smiling at him. She walked up to the very short line, getting a water only after about a half a minute of waiting. She automatically to a big gulp out of it and looked for Sasha.

Sasha, as it appeared, had gotten distracted (as he tended to get) by some rather cute guys that seemed to love his boa -- a very wise choice on his part, apparently. A moment later, he turned around to say something to Lynda, only to realize she wasn't there. "Huh... that's weird... I coulda sworn she was right there..." He murmured, his brow knitting together.

The first thought that crossed her mind was where the hell did he go? The second thought, however, was I'm free! She wasn't sure where to go, but needed a break from all the noise and insanity. Lynda walked around the pond, leaning against the rail and looking at the party happening in the distance. She smiled at all the people getting their pride on and having fun. Suddenly, she remembered the puppies. She'd have to get Jaynee a puppy, maybe. Later, though, so she wouldn't have to carry him around everywhere. She continued to walk, coming to a part where there was a water fall, but no railing.
Lynda crouched down so she could see her reflection in the water. A sudden wave of heat came over her and she was dizzy. She swayed in the hot, dry air. And then everything was dark and cold and wet.

"'l'll talk to you guys later," Sasha waved to his new friends, stuffing the slips of paper some of them had written their numbers on for him in his tight pocket. A minute later, he was looking around for Lynda, ending up walking the perimeter of the pond. He was there a moment just in time to see someone fall in near a waterfall... only to realize a few seconds later who it was.
"Lynda!" He gasped, breaking out into a run after the girl. He got there in time to drag her out of the water, cradling her in his arms to a nearby bench to lay her down. "Are you ok?" he asked, genuinly concerned.

Lynda hacked out all the water that had got into her mouth. "That water is disgusting! What, do the hobos bathe in it or something?" She grabbed her water, which hadn't followed her in, and took another gulp. She turned to the person who had saved her. Sasha. She was relieved to see him, and angry that he found her at the same time. She debated which feeling she should show, and went with relieved. "Thanks, Sasha, for that." She gave him an awkward smile for standing up.
The worst thing was that her white shirt was wet, but she could get over that small detail. She had seen girls walking around in their bras, so at least she wasn't as bad as them. She grabbed her purse - thank God that hadn't gotten wet - and her water. She was about to leave, but decided to stay with him. And this wasn't one of those weird, random change of mind decisions, but something she actually thought through. "So, where'd you go back there? I turn around, and you're gone." She almost sounded hurt, but knew better. She had no reason to be sad about him ditching her - she was happy. At the time.

Sasha couldn't help but smile in relief when she started talking and sitting up. She seemed to be ok -- which was good. "You complain a lot. You know that?" He said, ignoring her thanks. He'd just done what anyone would do, right?
Her question, though, made him frown, looking away as he stood up as well. "I got distracted by some guys," he told her. "Sorry... When I realized you weren't there I went looking for you, though. I just... found you too late."

"Oh please, I would have found my way out of that water eventually without your help," Lynda insisted. She started to roll up her shirt, stopping when she got to the top of her stomach. She used the hair band on her wrist to tie it to the side. She used to do this all the time during soccer when she was sweating worse than she was sweating today, just because she hated when her shirt was wet. "I'm... going to go dance or something. See you later, Sasha." That was probably a lie. After the rally, he would go back to his normal Eastwood life - or so she thought - and she would go back to Athena Academy. She'd probably never see him again. Lynda wasn't sure if she was glad or upset over that factor.

The next day, Sasha was back at school and (unfortuanately) fully clothed in regular jeans and a baby blue button down shirt. The rainbow pants, boa, and sweatband were in his closet, ready and waiting for the next outing.
The boy hoped Lynda got along ok, but as only Sasha could he'd already become distracted by other matters. Like lazing around the courtyard, studying his "Theory of The Marked" text book. That's right, Mr. Party Boy studies. Granted not very focusedly, but still. It counts. Right?

Lynda walked into the courtyard, looking for a good place to study. Her room was too distracting for her to concentrate. She pulled out her notebook and flipped to the blank page with "Chapter 13 Vocabulary" on the top. She then reached into her bag for her Theory of the Marked book, but it wasn't there.
Really, Lynda? You forgot the book, of all things? she thought. Now you have to walk all the way back to you room to find it. She had just finished track practice - walking wasn't going to happen any time soon. After scanning the small number of people in the courtyard for someone she knew - which was zero - she then looked around for someone with the book she needed. The boy with it looked friendly enough, and a bit familiar, so she walked up to him.
"Hey, I was wondering if you could share you book with me, please, because - wait, Sasha?" Lynda's eyes were practically popping out of her head. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me."

Sasha looked up at the girl, a huge grin on his face. "Well, if it isn't Lynda," he murmured, snapping the book shut. "Fancy seeing you in a place like this." He couldn't help but laugh. Talk about your weird coincidences. "You didn't tell me you were marked," He narrowed his eyes at her teasingly. It was nearly impossible for him to really look anything but happy. It was just... unheard of. Unless he was pissed or worried, but it took a lot for that to happen.
He seemed oblivious to the fact that she wasn't exactly thrilled to see him. Mostly because he was too amused by the fact that she was there. It was just... priceless.

Lynda rolled her eyes at this. "oh, I'm sorry. From now on I'll start all my conversations with strangers by saying 'Hello, my name is Lynda and my insignia is Aoi." She held up her arm with the insignia, her index finger and middle finger touching and her ring finger and pinky touching in the 'We come in peace' way. She rolled her eyes again and dropped her hand. "So what's your power, then?"

"Well, it would have been nice to know," he shrugged, ignoring her sarcasm. At her question, he looked down at his own wrist. "Er... Saimin-jutsu o kakeru..." He told her, looking back up at her with a guilty face. "Basically... Hypnosis." He really hoped she wouldn't connect it with what had happened the day before when she'd agreed to hang out with him. But it wasn't as if he could exactly hide it.

Lynda was a very logical person. Everything had to make sense. So naturally, she's been thinking about that momentary confusion she had at the rally a lot. She had figured that she, dare say, was attracted to the bi boy next to her and she had self-consciously agreed. But it was him all along. She felt relief. "That was you?" she asked. "Thank God."
