Damn her. He started to pick up his speed again after Tango's little stunt, and he knew there was no chance he'd catch up to her again. A ten year out in a yellow car kept running into him, and he knew the kid was saying "let's race." He had a bratty smile on and Taidan smirked at him. "It's on kid!"

Tango glanced back at Taidan, but couldn't focus on him for long. She had her own annoying ten-year-old to deal with. If she could've spoken right now she'd have been telling the girl bumping into her that she was going down. As it was she had to let her actions speak for her. She cut her steering wheel sharply to the left, slamming her car into the little girl's before swinging away and taking off at the maximum amount of speed she could coax from the gokart. Little kid or not, Tango was going to win this.

((sorry, but it was a too perfect opportunity. I can change it if you want.))
Tai stuck his tongue out a the little boy, pulling in front of him. When looking back at the road, it was too late to stop from hitting the little girl. She had recked somehow, and couldn't get her crappy car to start back up again. After a second of hesitation, Taidan jerked his car to the left to avoid hitting her, and tried to swerve around. He jerked too much, however, and at the speed he was going - well, it wasn't going to be good.
Tires lined the track, so people wouldn't run off the track. When you turn at sharply as Tai did, going as fast as you can possibly go, it'll make the go cart flip over the wheel. "Damn," Tai muttered, not too loud so the kids wouldn't hear, as his car flipped over the tire and into the grass. He flew out of the car - the seat belts in those things sucked - and felt his neck twist painfully as he hit the ground.

Tango was rounding the next curve in the track when she looked back over her shoulder, only to see a car that had run off course. A red car. Tai's car. Oh shit. She hit her brake without a second thought to the stupid ten-year-old girl or any of the other racers behind her. She knew she wasn't supposed to stop unless she crashed or get out of her car for any reason, but she couldn't have cared less. The marked girl unbuckled her seatbelt and hopped out of the car, stepping over the tires lining the track and running along the outside to where Taidan had crashed. As soon as she reached him she knelt beside him, grabbing his hand.
"Are you alright? What happened? Are you hurt?" she asked frantically. Not waiting for an answer she began waving her arms and shouting for the Freddie's employees to get their butts over there and help.

"Tango, it's OK. It's not like I'm dying," Tai joked, slowly sitting up, wincing from the pain. He guess was many sprained things. And maybe one or two broken ribs. He'd broken a lot of things, but never a rib, so he wasn't sure about this. Two of the Freddie's guys came over, ripping his hand from Tango's, and helped him stand up. They weren't the gentlest, and Tai grunted at just how bad it hurt to stand.
"We called 911. An ambulance should be on it's way," one guy said. Taidan ignored him and reached for Tango's hand. That's all he needed.

"You better not be dying," she muttered, "I haven't even kissed you yet." Tango continued to hold his hadn as they were ushered over to the start-up area where the Freddie's guys had a chair waiting. She couldn't help but notice that several parents were taking their kids off of the gokarts. This wouldn't be good for Freddie's, but she found she felt no sympathy for them. Get better seatbelts morons.

The two guys left him in the chair and went to got get the go karts. Taidan stood back up, using Tango for support, and pecked her on the cheeks. He would have made it a longer kiss, but since it was only the first date, and he was in a lot of pain, it was barely two seconds. "We've kissed now. So if I die, I won't have to feel guilty." He gave her a ridiculous smile to show how happy he was, despite all.

"You still better not die," she said petulantly. Tango didn't do well with people being hurt, especially people she cared about. She was on the verge of tears already, and she didn't want to make it worse by thinking about him dying. She held onto his hand tightly as they waited for the paramedics. When the men in white finally arrived, Taidan was loaded into the ambulance carefully. Tango refused to leave his side. She wouldn't let go of his hand for a second as they drove do the hospital.

Taidan glanced at Tango as he was sitting in the bed in the ambulance. "Hey now, I was only joking about dying. It's not actually going to happen. I've been hurt a lot worse." Taidan smirked briefly, thinking of all the reckless things he and his friends had done. He turned his attention back to Tango, giving her a reassuring smile.

Tango returned his smile as best she could. She knew that he wasn't going to die. In her mind she knew it. But she was still worried. She was a worrier, there was no getting around it. She didn't have many friends. She had even fewer people that she'd liked as much as she liked him. Him being hurt was overwhelming her.

They arrived at the hospital, and the paramedics started rolling him out of the ambulance. "Ma'am, you're going to have to wait in the waiting room until we get him checked out for broken bones or internal bleeding. When we get him in a proper room, we'll call you in." Taidan gave Tango a sad, pathetic smile, and squeezed her hand before letting it go.

When they finally called Tango into Tai's room, she had grown very sick of the plain white walls and ugly furniture of the waiting room. She hated hospitals. She hated waiting more. She had to work hard to keep herself from running to Tai when they called her. As it was she took a seat in the chair next to his bed and took his hand. "How are you feeling?" she asked.

"I sprained my foot and my neck - just not bad enough to wear one of those stupid neck brace things. And I broke two ribs. And everything is sore. But I should be good." Taidan gave her a beam and made it where the bed was in a sitting up position. Taidan scooted over and patted the side of his bed. "You can come closer. I don't bite. Unless you want me to, that is." He smirked at her and gently pulled her arm.

Tango smiled and slid up onto the bed next to him. It sounded bad all put together, and she knew that he would have some trouble getting around, but none of it was too terrible. "I sprained my foot once. My friend fell on me. It was annoying but it only took a couple of days to heal," she said, "Broken ribs on the other hand are really not fun. Though I broke five I think, so that was probably worse."

"Five?" Taidan asked in surprise. "How'd you manage to do that, if you don't mind me asking?" He pulled her close, finding comfort in having her near him. He had grown fond of the girl, yet he hasn't known her for very long.
