"Yeah, at least with her we can talk, but it's still going to be boring as hell," she said, looking around the room. It was a full house today, with every desk taken, but she figured there would be days when the numbers would be less. There was no one here she really wanted to talk to besides her sister, and even they would run out of things to talk about eventually. Note to self: bring a boardgame tomorrow.

"So besides that guy,"-Lynda nodded to the boy in front of Jaynee-"How many people asked you about the cupcakes." Lynda smirked at the thought. The word had gotten all around school, and everyone believed it to be a fun prank. No one knew the real facts, which bothered the tomboy twin to the extreme. "I had 17."

"Well, only about ten actually asked," Jaynee said, "but I had at least ten more come up to me and say, 'That was so cool what you did with the cupcakes!'" It was probably because she was known for being a hippie. It always bugged her that people thought just because she believed in helping the environment and ending animal cruelty and was against weapons of mass destruction people assumed that she would be a pothead too. She remembered hearing something about assuming things before. You spell assume A-S-S-U-M-E so when you assume, you make an ass out of you and me. Mostly, though, it just made an ass out of the person doing the assuming.

"Yeah, I was counting anyone who mentioned it to me, really." Lynda shrugged, then smiled as something crossed her mind. "Oh, and Jaynee, guess how many I yelled at today? 18 people, 17 of them being about the cupcakes, and then one completely random dude who ran into me in the hall without saying sorry."

"You really need to work on your anger issues, hon, get your chakras flowing better so that you don't have to blow off steam by yelling at people," Jaynee said, knowing full well that her new age/hippie talk would annoy her sister. She, in contrast, had yelled at no people today. She never yelled at anyone. She might disagree loudly on occasion, but never yell. She had done her best to gently correct people today, but with the last few people she had gotten to the point where she gave in to the urge to correct not so gently.

Lynda's face made contact with the desk and she groaned loudly at her sister. She loved her sister - not sometimes, all the time - but they were completely different. "You know I don't like it when you start to talk about my 'chakras.' I like the way I blow off steam perfectly fine, thank you."

"Alright, alright," Jaynee said, her hands going up in surrender, "I respect your choices. I'm just saying it would be better for you to release your anger in a more productive way." She put her hands back on the desk and looked around the room once more. Everyone was talking amongst themselves and Mrs. Barnes read on, oblivious. "This is so slack. Someone could be running a drug dealing business right here in detention and no one would ever know," she commented.
"You mean someone like you?" a guy in the desk next to her asked, turning away from his friend, who sat in front of him.
"Excuse me, but I don't believe you were part of this conversation," Jaynee said, "And we didn't put the pot in those cupcakes."
"Oh you say that, but everyone knows you did it," he replied.
"So the cops are wrong then?" she asked with mock surprise.
"It's happened before," he said now.
"Oh fuck off," the twin snapped.
"Not so sunshiney now, huh hippie?" he just wouldn't quit trying to piss her off.
"You know, dude, I don't believe in violence," she said, "but my sister, she doesn't quite feel the same way."
"I ain't scared of no girl!" he protested. Jaynee looked over at Lynda and flicked her hand toward the boy as if to say, "Have at it."

"Your the best sister ever." Lynda stood up, rolling up her sleeves. "Do you want to do this right here, or take it outside?" The boy stared at her, then started to laugh at her. She couldn't take it when people laugh at her.
Standing up, she realized he was a lot taller than her. "What are you going to do, shortie?"
Lynda smiled at him, kicking his left knee in. The guy bent down in pain, making them around the same height. "This is for calling us druggies,"- Lynda punched him in the jaw -"and for being disrespectful to my sister,"- Insert another punch in the gut -"and for not believing us when we speak the truth,"- Now she punched his face again, earning a sickening snap of the nose -"and for thinking a girl couldn't beat your sorry ass!" Lastly, she kneed him in the groin, then pushed him so he was in fetal position on the floor. Glancing over at the teacher, who was still clueless with her music turned up way too loud, Lynda chuckled and sat back down.

Jaynee carefully looked away as her sister beat up the guy who'd been heckling them. If she didn't see it she didn't have to be upset that her beliefs were being violated. Instead she watched the stunned faces of those watching, juding by that and the noise how badly the guy was getting beat. It was pretty bad. "Love you, sis," she said when Lynda had taken her seat once more.

"Hey, it's my job to defend you," Lynda said, puffing up her chest like a dude and putting a fist at each said of her, pretending she was actually buff. After a few seconds of holding that pose, she burst out in laughter and leaned back in her seat. "Wow. You need a boyfriend, so I don't have to worry about beating people up for you anymore. It's tiring work."

"If I were to get a boyfriend he would be someone who'd be as sensitive and caring as I am, not someone who'd go around beating people up," she replied, trying to sound indignant but failing for the most part. She was too busy laughing at her sister's macho act. "And you're just so good at it, I'd hate to take away your job," Jaynee added.

Lynda beamed and flipped her hair in a mock egotistical way. "Why thank you." She slouched in her chair, and wiped some blood that was still on her hand on her jeans. It wasn't her blood, but her fist did hurt pretty bad. That guy had a hard face.

"We really need boyfriends," she said, intentionally including her sister in this statement. Jaynee didn't usually worry about dating, not like some girls did anyway, but it had been rather lonely lately with just her sister to hang out with.

Lynda was silent for a moment, trying to decide what to say to that. She didn't really want to admit that she needed a man - being the stubborn girl that she was - but it wouldn't be a bad thing. She opened her mouth, sarcastic comeback ready, but then closed it again. This was her sister she was talking to, and didn't want to be mean to one of the only people she actually liked. "We can go through last year's Yearbook later."

"Hehehe, yeah, what a way to choose," she said, laughing, "Though it does say people's abilities, so I spose that would give us some clue to their personalities." Jaynee felt like a loser for discussing this kind of thing, but feeling like a loser had never stopped her from doing anything before.
