Bailey opened his eyes to find himself in complete darkness. He tried to look around, to find something lite or with light. But had no luck. He walked forward a bit, and bumped into a wall. Bailey placed his weary hands on the cold, damp wall, and followed it along for a little while. Then he sat down, his back against the wall.
Outside, he could hear a terribly loud siren waling and wind whiping back and forth heavily. He closed his eyes and concentrated on something else, when suddenly he heard something. It was a faint, breathing noise. Bailey's eyes shot open as he realised he wasnt alone.

Jaynee couldn't believe this was happening. A hurricane, of all things. Why the hell did it have to hit here? And why the hell did it have to hit now, when she was seperated from Lynda? Her sister had been in the library working on homework while Jaynee had been in their room, just chilling out. Relaxing, unaware that all hell was about to break loose. When the sirens started going off, directing everyone to make their way to a basement, she'd just had time to grab a blanket and a flashlight before running down. There were several different rooms in the basement of the girls' dorm, but she hadn't dared to venture around and see who else was there yet. She hadn't even had the sense to turn on her flashlight before plunging into the darkness of the basement, she was in such a hurry to reach safety.
Now that she'd reached it, all she could think about was Lynda. Fear and doubt were knawing at her mind, convincing her that her twin was dead or dying and bringing her close to hysterics. One thing was for sure, if one more thing went wrong she would snap. The blonde girl hugged her knees tightly, pulling the blanket around her tightly as she make a physical and conscious effort to calm herself down, to think rationally. She knew that she should turn on her flashlight and make a survey of her surroundings, but it took her a minute to locate the light. Once her shaky fingers had grasped the plastic handle she flicked the switch.
The first thing that appeared in the circle of light was wall...more wall as she moved around the room...a couch that had definitely seen better days...more wall...some cardboard boxes...and...oh shit. Bailey. If there was anyone she absolutely didn't want to see right now, it was him. Over the past couple days she'd been trying, and failing, to stop thinking about him, to make herself let go of her feelings for him. She just couldn't do it. Something about the boy just wouldn't let him go, and when she reminded herself that he didn't feel anything for her it only served to depress her. At the moment, however, seeing him, piled on top of everything else, just pised her off.
"What are you doing here?" she snapped, more harshly than was really called for.

Bailey rolled his eyes, as he realised who the other person in the room was. He covered his face from the light that was being shone in his eyes, and glared.
,"Id like to ask myself the same thing...," he growled, and then added,"..its not like i wanted to be here anyways.,"
But Bailey was lying, he had oh so wanted to be near Jaynee at the moment it was tearing his insides apart.

"Well you're welcome to leave. I'm sure there are plenty of other girls somewhere else in the basement," Jaynee said, acting like she couldn't care less while inwardly hoping he would stay. She knew he was probably wondering what the hell was going on, what with the hurricane at all, but she didn't enlighten him. She was feeling rather bitchy at the moment and wasn't inclined to do anything for him. Or rather, she was going to act that way to keep from throwing herself at him. She set the flashlight down on the ground, pointing it at the wall so as to give them enough light to see each other by but not have in in anyone's face. She told herself that it was more because she didn't want to have to hold it and didn't trust him in the pitch dark than because she wanted to be able to see his gorgeous face.

Bailey glared harder at Jaynee to make it look like he was really mad. He coughed, then shook his head,"Fine! I will leave!," he said, getting up and starting to walk away.
But, just as he was walking towards where he thought the door was, he caught his ankle in something, and twisted it completely backwords. There was a sudden snapping noise, and Bailey stopped dead in his tracks, his heart pounding. Suddenly, he was on the ground, cusing extremly loud and with so much passion he was afraid the roof might collapse on them.
,"Shit! Owww! It hurts like a mother f***er! Oww! i think its broken! Damnit, its broken! Oww! It is,isnt it?! Bitch,f***,damn, shit, ass face hole..," he complained, his eyebrows forming a thin line across his face as he held his ankle.

Jaynee was kneeling next to Bailey in an instant. She knew she should be acting like she didn't care, but she just couldn't make herself do it. She just couldn't help it. Much as she tried not to, she cared about him, and she wasn't about to let herself sit by and do nothing while he was hurt. She looked down at the ankle Bailey was holding, noting the strange angle at which it was bent.
"Shit. Yeah, that's broken. Here, let me help you," she said, looking around for something she could use as a splint, or rather, anything strong enough to make a good splint once she shaped it right.

,"NO!," Bailey said loudly, swatting at her hand. For some reason, he was really pissed and he had no idea why. He glared in the darkness, and looked around for something straight to fix his leg with. But, came up with nothing. He frowned even more, and scooted away from Jaynee, being as stubborn as ever.

Jaynee returned his glar with a steely gaze of her own. "Don't be a moron. Your freakin ankle's broken and you can't fix it without my help," she said. The blonde girl stood up and walked over to the couch where a spring was popping out of the cushion. This she pulled out and then fashioned into one straight piece of metal, about a foot long. She picked up the blanket she'd brought with her and shaped it into a long strip like a bandage and walked back over to Bailey as her insignia slowly stopped glowing.
"Now hold still and don't do anything stupid," she said, "Though I'm not gonna lie, this'll be a bitch." She didnt' wait for him to respond. She didn't have time to deal with his stubborness anymore. Jaynee grasped the boy's shin firmly with one hand and put her weight on it to keep it pressed to the floor. The foot she grabbed with her other hand and as gently as she could shifted it so that the ankle was straight. She immediately pressed the metal rod to the limb and quickly and securely wrapped it in the blanket bandage. After her work was done she released his leg and moved so that she was kneeling next to him again. She knew it had to have hurt, but it would hurt less now that it was straight and wrapped up.
"So are you okay? or, okay as you can be at least?" she asked tentatively, knowing she was bound to get a snappy attitude. At this point she was just tired of being angry at Bailey. She couldn't make herself hate him or even pretend to hate him. She was just too sick of it. Given the introduction or a reason to say it she might very well just let it slip that she liked him, probably far too much.

Bailey shut his eyes and gritted his teeth as he felt the pain i n his leg worsen. He tried to not yell, but he just couldnt help it. As soon as Jaynee had kneeled next to him, he laid back on the floor and screamed.
When he was done, it got increasingly quite in the basement. All Bailey could hear was the screaming of the winds outside, and his and Jaynee's own, steady breathing. He looked around once more in the darkness, and sighed.
,"Im sorry.," he said plainly," i was an ass. sorry..,"

"Well thank you," she said, slightly unsure what time he was apologizing for but figuring he must have meant it just in general. She bit her lip nervously as she consdered what to say next. She knew what she wanted to say, but had a feeling she would regret saying it. A small battle went on inside her head. A "I tell him" and "I tell him not" sort of thing. The fight was soon over though, and the decision was made. She just couldn't hold it in any longer. If he still rejected her, then so be it. She just couldn't stand the thought of him never knowing. "I'm sorry I hurt you. I know I've been acting like I don't care, but....I do. I like you...a lot, and it's been really frustrating me because I know you don't feel the same way about me and that's why I've been rather pissy lately," she said, looking down so as to avoid his eyes.

Bailey his breathe. This was the first time anyone, including a girl, had told him that they liked him, especially a lot. He rolled his eyes at the last part though, but instead of saying something meaningful he just laid there staring up at the ceiling. He could hear the wind outside, whiping at the side of the building. It was pretty bad.
Bailey sighed, what was he supposed to say to her? He was about to say something when someone with a flashlight ran into the room, yelling.
,"Help!,"they yelled, shining the light at Jaynee and Bailey's faces.

Jaynee looked up at the two girls who had just entered, more glared really. She stood up to get her face out of the light, which was extremely obnoxious and stepped a bit closer to the girls.
"First off, if you want help, you should keep the damn light out of my face," she began, "Second of all, what do you need help with anyway?" Jaynee rather doubted she would be able to help the girls and especially doubted Bailey's ability to help considering his broken ankle, but she felt compelled to ask.

The girls hesistated, then the taller of the two stepped forward.
,"Well you see.. our friend kinda gets ..uhmm, around alot..and well, she kinda..," the taller girl seemed to be trying to find the right words, but didnt know what to say. The smaller of the two, realising her friend was at a lose, stepped up.
,"She's in labour!," the small girl screamed,"Please! you guys are the ONLY people we've found down here, and we need your help desperately!," she looked around nervously, and then darted out the door.
Bailey scratched his head, and looked around confused. What was going to happen now?
