Tori glanced over, but didn’t pay much attention to his sister as she called his name. He only glared, growling under his and turned up to fly higher into the sky. He bent his wings back and thrust with all his might, until he was so high up that he couldn’t see Taira, or rather anything else for that matter.
He looked around. All he could see was clouds and sky, and then the sun. He inhaled deeply and flew up a little higher before flapping his wings fast and then gliding. He had no idea where he was going, and he didn’t care.

Sighing, Taira watched him shoot up. Great. There was no way he'd stop to talk to her, now. As she became more sure of that thought, a sharp pain became apparent in her chest, her throat tight. Before she knew it, she was crying. Not good. Especially when flying. Carefully, she slowed down and aimed for the school, pointing towards the forests by the sports fields. Within moments, she'd touched down in front of the bathhouse, stumbling in.
There, she ended up curling on the floor and just crying for a while. When she finally calmed down enough that she was no longer sobbing, she pulled out her cell phone and punched in Tori's number, getting his voice mail, as expected. "Tori," She mumbled when the message beeped, her voice hoarse and shaky from crying. "Tori, please... Come to the bathhouse... I can't stand it if you're mad at me. Please. I'm sorry for whatever I did to make you mad. Please... I love you..." Hiccuping, she hung up and dropped the phone onto the ground, pulling her knees to her chin to just sit there and wait.

Tori could feel his phone buzzing in his pocket. Slowly, he got it out and looked at it. Of course, she was calling. Tori growled, rolled his eyes and spitefully threw his cellphone down. He watched it as it tumbled to the ground, until he couldnt see it anymore.
A few hours later!
Luke yawned. He had no idea why he was walking around the school this late at night. But, he was bored, and couldnt fall asleep so he decided to walk around looking for nothing and not caring if he got caught. Something was bothering him though, something that he didnt understand..

((Darn... I was hoping for an emotional scene between Tori and Taira... oh well.))
Taira waited in the bathhouse until she fell asleep, curled up in a heap of old towels she found. When she'd woken up, it was dark out, so late that she was sure most people would be in bed. Straightening her glasses, she looked around and realized that, for some reason, Tori wasn't coming. The pain in her chest returned, hollow this time. Numbly, she got up and trudged out of the bathhouse and headed toward the school, her wings drooping behind her.
It wasn't long, though, before something caught her eye. Or someone, rather. "L-Luke?" She called, wrapping her arms around herself. She knew she must have looked like hell, but it was nice to see someone familiar, even if it wasn't Tori.

Luke turned around, and was a little taken aback,"..wow,you ..you look like hell.. are you..you okay?," he said, walking up to Taira and putting his arms around her.
,"..seriously though..are you okay?," he said protectively, almost like he was hinting something..

"I- I'm fine," she lied, blushing. This wasn't what she needed, right then. And it wasn't exactly as though she could tell him why she was so upset. Luke was nice and all, but he was no Tori. Of course, thinking about Tori only made the pain in Taira's chest hurt more. As much as she wanted to pull away, it felt kind of nice to be held right then. Sure, she wished it were Tori, but Luke was the only one there. The pain was suddenly too much... Unable to stop it, she started crying into his shoulder, whimpering with how much it hurt.

Luke started to say something but stopped as Taira started crying, He frowned and looked up at the sky. Then he looked back down at her.
,"Come on Taira...dont cry..it cant be that bad..sides im here for you..," he said kindly, sympathetically smiling at her. He had no idea why she was really crying.
~Tori had been flying for quit sometime and was getting extremely exhausted. He started to decent his flying, nearing towards the ground, and following a small road which he thought would be rarely used. Well, he was wrong.
He hadnt seen the truck when it was coming, or even when it was right behind him. He had been so tired and weak, that he could barely move, he just stubbornly stayed where he was, suicide in his mind. Its too bad that the truck hadnt killed him, but it was also a good thing.
Now, he layed on the road, bleeding and gasping for air. His wings hurt him and he cried out in pain, slowly rolling over on his back. The truck driver hopped out and ran over to Tori where he lay. The truck driver started freaking out, calmed down, then freaked out again. Soon, he had calmed down enough to call 911 and an ambulance was sent out. It came quicker than the truck driver expected and quickly to a hurt Tori, to the hospital.

Taira had been hugging Luke for a while when her cell phone suddenly rang. Instantly, she stepped out of Luke's arms and pressed her phone to her ear without looking at who it was.
"Tori?!" She asked immediately, hoping. Her face fell a moment later. "Well then who-" she didn't get a chance to finish before a look of horror crossed her face. "No... No that's not possible... are you... are you sure?" After a minute of listening, the tears in her eyes starting to come faster and faster, she finally hung up and turned to Luke.
"I need to go." She told him, already heading for the parking lot. "Tori... Tori's in the hospital. Could you drive me? I would fly but..." She shook her head, knowing it would be a horrible idea to fly when she was so upset.

Luke nodded, looking down at Taira comfortingly. He grabbed her hand and led her around to the front of the school, into the student parking lot.((assuming there is one...)) Soon, they came upon a dark blue, almost black looking mustang gt.
Luke reached into his pocket and pulled out the keys. Opening the car door, and hopping in. He reached over and opened Taira's door, as he was cranking up the car.
,"soo..um, where too?," he asked her hurriedly.

Taira climbed in and shut the door, ready to get the hell on their way. "Eastwood Hospital," she told him, almost forgetting to put her seatbelt on. She could hardly think straight. She was too worried about Tori. Too worried about her brother. Her lover. She couldn't help but think the car would be too slow. She would have gotten there faster by flying... but that was only if she could see to get there at all. The sleeves of her hoddy came in handy to wipe the tears away, but didn't help much. As soon as her eyes were dried, they were wet again. She just wanted to get there already. To be sure that Tori was ok.

Luke nodded, and cranked the car up. Reeving it a few times, before putting it in drive, and quickly driving out of the parking lot. He glanced over at Taira, whom was still crying. He felt a tinge of sympathy for the girl, and speed up a little.
It had been just ten minutes when they pulled into the hospital's parking lot. Luke put the car in park, and turned it off.
,"Were here..," he said obviously, opening his car door and waiting for Taira to come out.

Taira got out of the car in a rush, slamming the door behind her. She didn't even glance at Luke to make sure he was following before she set off at a run toward the hospital's entrance, making sure her wings were tucked in tight. The last thing she needed was a bunch of unmarked people gawking at her while she was attempting to get to her brother.
Within moments, she skidded to a stop in front of the desk in the lobby. "Tori Thomas," she barked at the receptionist, only to recieve a blank and startled look. "My brother -- Tori Thomas! -- where is he?!" She was demanding desperatly, her face tear soaked.
"Um, just a moment..." She woman hastily turned to a computer, typing away. "He just got out of surgery... room 213. But-"
Taira didn't hear whatever else the woman was about to say. She took off at a run, already searching. Soon enough, she found his room on the second floor and burst in.
"Tori!" She choked out, stumbling to a halt beside his bed, one of her hands coming up to cover her mouth.

(IN COOL NARRATOR VOICE!)
The nurse had tried to stop the young girl whom had barked commands at her. The nurse really had. But, the girl had just been too fast, and now, it was her own fault to see what had happened to the person called 'Tori Thomas'.
Tori, actually, had been way better off than the nurse had claimed him to be. Just the fact to her that he was one of them had startled her more than what had really been done to the boy. For you see, Tori Thomas had been flying awfully low, on a 'not-so-busy' road, in the middle of the night.
Well, it oh so happens that an old truck driver named Chuck, age 80-something, had decided to take a detour, or shortcut to get his job done faster. So, he pulled off the highway onto a small, 'not-so-busy' road. And thus, had a head on collision with the main person in the response,Tori Thomas.
Tori had been rushed to the hospital, and it was irregularly noted that he was in fact, one of the marked. But, non the less, he had been rushed to the ER and had immediate surgery. The surgeons had done everything they could for the boy, but it was hard not to do what had to be done.
So, in a full body cast, and never to ever be able to use his proclaimed wings again, Tori Thomas laid unconscious in the cold, not so friendly and uninviting hospital room.

Days passed, and then weeks. Against the protests of the hospital, school, and their parents, Taira hardly left Tori's side. She figured that none of the hospital's doctors or nurses obected because they wee too afriad of the bird girl. She slept curled up on a couch in the room, ate mostly from the vending machines, sometimes she would wander down to the cafeteria.
At night, she'd sit beside Tori and whisper to him about how much she loved him, or how sorry she was for whatever she did, how much she wanted him to get better. Even more quietly, she would tell him how much she missed holding him, kissing him, and everything between and beyond.
On the day that he was supposed to finally get the full-body cast off, Taira was a nervous wreck. She sat in his room, waiting for them to bring him back from where ever they took him to get it off. They told her he'd be awake when he got back. Able to speak. She just hoped they weren't lying this time. Her wings bristled as she stood by her window, biting her nails and peering out of her glasses.
She just wanted him back. Nothing else seemed to matter, anymore.

Soon afterwards, the nurse wheeled Tori back into his hospital room, where his sister, Taira, now accompanied by Luke, waited. He rolled his eyes. That was no surprise. Tori was in complete and utter turmoil, and seeing them where he was made it no better.
When he had finally made it into his bed and the nurse had left, he made no attempt to acknowledge their presence. He said nothing, only picked up the tv remote and turned it on.
